Bayanbold earns Leadership Award

Khaliunaa Bayanbold, secretary/treasurer of the University of Iowa Postdoctoral Association (UIPDA), was named the 2025 recipient of the UIPDA Leadership Award.

Khaliunaa Bayanbold

Bayanbold, a postdoctoral research scholar at the UI Stead Family Children's Hospital, has been described as the backbone of the UIPDA’s Executive Board.  She played a major role in writing the 2025 UIPDA survey and the UIPDA handbook, helped organize UIPDA events during the 2024-25 academic year, and recruited postdocs to committee roles.

“This award recognizes her outstanding service, dedication, and leadership in advancing the mission of the UIPDA and supporting the postdoctoral community at Iowa,” UIPDA President MG Jones says. “We’re incredibly grateful for her contributions and inspired by her commitment to making a difference."

Bayanbold also has been awarded the Genetics and Genomics Fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She will be leaving Iowa City for Bloomington, Ind., at the end of June.
