This event, offered online via Teams, will feature several short talks (3-5 minutes) about how faculty, students and staff at the University of Iowa are using artificial intelligence.
The talks serve as a platform for learning and innovation as artificial intelligence rapidly transforms the technological landscape.
Presenters for this month are:
Emily Ladendorf, administrator of technology and marketing, Belin-Blank Center, College of Education, on using the new Researcher agent for Copilot to determine whether course notes covered all of a certification’s requirements.
Sean Hesler, director of Organizational Effectiveness, on exploring Copilot as a proxy for a certified professional coach.
Allie Brandriet, assistant director of the Center for Teaching, on a simple Copilot agent that helps summarize meetings and track action items to stay organized and streamline logistics for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) program meetings. This agent was created in collaboration with Sara Nasrollahian Mojarad, associate director, Center for Teaching.
Laura Yost, instructional services specialist, College of Nursing, on how Napkin can support principles of universal design for learning.
Ross Miller, lead application developer, Administrative Information Systems, on AI lecture note generation to meet the needs for students in Student Disability Services and enhanced automatic transcripts with AI.
The goals are to:
Share knowledge and insights about the latest AI trends, tools, best practices, and practical uses of AI.
Encourage collaboration and cross-pollination of ideas across campus.
Inspire innovative applications of AI.
